2017 was a memorable one for me. I started this blog, met a lot of people, had a brand new niece and nephew, and achieved so many other things. I spoke about all this in our anniversary post.
To be honest, I stepped out of my comfort zone when I started this blog. 12 months and some days later, I’m still overwhelmed with the blog’s reach. People all over the world are reading, and it gladdens my heart.
Enough of the mushy stuff!
Last year I published 78 posts on the blog. To be expected, some were very popular with the readers. So, I’ve decided to do a listicle; the 10 blog posts of 2017 that got the most views.
Here, we analysed what it means to hire a mentor, why it’s important and who you should pick. This post was a hit with a lot of entrepreneurs, and I got a lot of questions from people asking how to go about it.
Still thinking of getting a mentor but don’t know how to go about it? Or you didn’t know hiring a mentor was a thing, then click on the link and read. Who knows, maybe one or two of the tips will be beneficial to you or someone you know.
Tosyn’s interview was the first interview for 2017. In fact, when I sent her an email to interview her and she promptly responded, I was so impressed. She’s one amazing woman who made the bold move of leaving law to follow her heart.
In addition to her never-ending qualities, she’s a bad-ass blogger.
If there’s one thing I totally enjoyed last year, it is that I got to share this brilliant man with the world. You really need to read the post, and visit his blog, smallstarter.com, to appreciate what I’m talking about.
This was my second post after my blog went live. Believe me, clicking that “publish” was so difficult. Many thoughts were going through my head, not unrelated to the fact that I shared a lot of personal stories. As someone who had enuresis, I felt that I had to say something.
The comments, oh the comments…. This life is all about stepping out of your comfort zone. Many people wrote in to say that they went through the same thing, either as kids or adults.
Give it a read. You won’t regret it!
After my wedding, I just had to share the ways Le Hubs and I cut down costs.
Before we got married, the costs I’d gotten from vendors almost deterred us. I even contemplated telling Le Hubs that we should postpone the wedding so we could save more money.
For anyone planning their wedding, some of the tips I shared will help you save money. Most people forget that the wedding is just a couple of hours. It’s the marriage that is important, and trust me, you do not want to start your marriage with debts.
A dear friend of mine was the inspiration behind this post. So many people put in a lot of things in their CV with the hope that they’ll not be found out. The most common lie I’ve seen is “I am conversant with Microsoft Office“.
I shared a couple of stories too on the length people will go to enrich their CVs.
This post cracks me up even till today. See, if there’s ever an award to be given for the chief procrastinator in my family, I will be the winner. It’s so bad that it drives Le Hubs crazy.
I was surfing the net and I saw an article on how it wasn’t a terrible thing to procrastinate. After reading it, I realised that I was on to something. There’s a reason why I procrastinate, so I thought to share it.
Whether you are a 9-5er or an entrepreneur, networking is a key skill you should have. If you don’t have this skill, you need to learn it.
Believe me, it was difficult for me, and still is. But you have to do it, especially when you are sent alone for conferences and you are expected to prepare a report on the outcome. This is the procedure in my office. You also have to include in your report who you met and how such a person will be beneficial to the firm.
In this post, I shared some key tips on how to network like a pro.
This guy right here is one of my favourite persons. Smart, cocky, and insanely talented. His drawings are so wonderful. Still hurts that I missed his first exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria.
How he effortlessly combines law and drawing is still amazing to me. Click on the link to check out some of his drawings. Most of them reminds me of my childhood.
I’m super proud of this post. It was one of my earliest. When I read it, I see growth and there’s always a smile on my face.
Anyway back to the post. How do you tell someone that their breath stinks? Till today, nobody has given me an answer that won’t hurt the person with bad breath. Do you know how to relay this message? Please share.
These posts are the top 5 after the 10 above. So, I’ve stylishly listed 15 blog posts that did amazingly well in 2017.
So, there you have it. My top 15 blog posts. Don’t forget to subscribe so that you’ll be among the first to know when a post is published.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
